Alexander Wang / WWD
Four years and a CFDA Swarovski Award later, fashion's boy wonder, Alexander Wang has finally launched a line for men. Per usual, the 25-year-old New Yorker displayed remarkable insight into the sartorial needs of his customer in describing his new venture. “I have a different motive for launching men’s. Women’s is more about a fantasy and indulgence. But I think guys look most sexy in a T-shirt and jeans,” Wang said. Despite the vaguely androgynous feel of the women's jersey line, the new line of muscle tees, sweatshirts and hoodies don't simply mimic more masculine bent, but rather, identify a whole new ideal in chic, easy dressing for men ... not to mention a whole new treasure trove of boyfriend clothing for women to steal from their mates.
As if that weren't enough to make us love Alexander Wang even more, we were also thrilled to catch the slightly hilarious footage of his personal tour of NYC for fellow designer, Henry Holland. They fully have the "should we walk?" debate on air, and end up at New World Order after it's closed. We love. Oh, and we totally go to the same magazine shop - especially now!
