Daily Wrap 2/16: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Rodarte, and More

A snowy day at New York Fashion Week it was, but as the adage goes, the show must go on. And show they did.

• After presenting his impeccable Marc Jacobs collection last night, the designer sent girls down the runway again today showing military, prep school, and duck hunting looks for Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Vera Wang pushed the whole - this is a women's collection, NOT bridal - thing to the extreme (but in a good way), showing a collection almost entirely comprised of black, with gussied up party pieces that have just enough edge to work uptown and down.

• Sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy proved as creative as ever in constructing - or should we say deconstructing - fall 2010 looks for their label Rodarte. Bits of plaid, spidery knits, lace, and mohair were pieced together, draped, and wrapped for an expertly executed, craft-y chic vibe.

• In keeping with the day's upbeat vibe, Derek Lam summoned his inner cowboy, CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Sophie Theallet channeled princesses of childhood folk tales, and Alice Temperely got groovy with vintage sixties styles stripes and prints.
