Bobbi Brown Employs Power of Twitter, Makeovers in New Campaign

Makeup guru Bobbi Brown has always been PR-savvy, and her latest campaign is no exception. For "Pretty Powerful," Brown has given 50 fans, friends, and staffers the Bobbi Brown treatment in an online makeover series, and is planning a Twitter conference for today.

The makeover component on Brown's website includes portraits of 50 "real" women -- everything from names and information to face charts -- and then before and after shots (including some video) of how Brown has transformed each woman using her products. While it's kind of a disappointment that there isn't video for how to execute each look (granted, it might have been an insurmountable task), it is highly addicting to click through more and more of these different-looking gals and see what makeup treatment each got. It's true: There are few things in entertainment more satisfying than a makeover. Brown's commerce-savvy, too -- each girl's profile includes the makeup she's wearing and links to buy each product.

Sure, there are obvious flaws: Only one product is really highlighted on each girl's page, and many of the products aren't available to buy until February or March. But overall, well played.

To bolster the entire campaign, Brown's hosting her first Twitter press conference today (@AskBobbiBrown), where the makeup maven will be answering her followers' questions from 12:30-1:30. Granted, Twitter press conferences might be the final evidence that Twitter has truly jumped the shark, so to speak, but then again -- who doesn't love makeup advice?
