Best Moments from Fashion Week

We almost touched Madonna!

At the Marc Jacobs show on Monday night, we somehow managed to end up standing right behind none other than Madonna. Technically, there was only one seated row at the Armory (thusly, there were only front row seats -- a very exclusive touch, we might add), so anyone with standing room had a shot at being in breathing room of some serious heavy-hitters. For us, that star happened to be Madonna, who was sitting right next to Robert Duffy. Close enough to touch, but of course, we kept a modest distance.

We got a sneak preview of Jason Wu's collection!

Two days before the official kick-off of fashion week, we took a visit to Jason Wu's studio in midtown and had the privilege of getting a sneak peek at the designer's Spring 2010 collection, as well as bearing witness to all manner of dizzying last-minute arrangements -- from model fittings to music mixing to sketches of the proposed St. Regis runway. We were pretty starstruck, and you can watch our video here!

By the Friday of the show, we were sitting front row and watching it all come together with precision: the mirrored runway, the intro and closing music, and finally, the feathered minidress we'd so admired hanging on a rack in the studio.

Rachel Comey complimented us on our dress!

Now, granted, she did design it. But considering how big of fans we are, we have to admit the encouter left us giddy -- not to mention the fact that her collection remains one of our favorites of the week.
