Brazilian shoe designer Andreia Chaves has a penchant for creating daring, architectural footwear, but she may have finally outdone herself with this dazzling mirrored "invisible" shoe.
As the Refinery29 gals put it, "these are shoes that will freak people out," in that they'll essentially reflect one's surrounding via mirrored prisms, creating the effect of, well, one's feet disappearing. Kind of.
Chavest told Yatzer that her work is mostly inspired by the beauty found in chaos: "The fact that I grew up in a chaotic city like Sao Paolo, full of contrasts, being in contact with such diversity and constant exposure to different visual inputs, has inspired me in how I think and conceptualize my shoes." Apparently she's also been experimenting while she's been in Europe, and counts Martin Margiela as one of her major influencers (another reason it's a pity he's retiring!).
You can't buy them yet -- they are "concept" shoes, after all -- but we predict Gaga or Daphne Guiness gets her hands on 'em before too long.
