2009 Primetime Emmys Fashion: Blush Beauties

Fresh off Fashion Week's no-pants extravaganza, it was refreshing to catch a different kind of trend at last night's Primetime Emmy awards: blush nudes in princess silhouettes, creating a red carpet parade of pretty.

Brava to the stylists of Hollywood for their marvelous interpretation of feminine fairy princess looks that fell on the chic side of precious and cast their wearers in the most flattering pink glow.  Leading ladies brought out a melange of nudes, from Elisabeth Moss' screen siren champagne satin, to Drew Barrymore's peachy dream dress and Rose Byrne's glittering showstopper worn with a sleek and modern bob.  January Jones, who might just be the prettiest girl on the planet, gave her creamy neutral palette an art deco twist with geometric structure on a sexy column, while (surprise) Supporting Actress winner Kristin Chenoweth lit up the evening with her cutesy smile and crystal-encrusted blinged out mini.

One may think a neutral trend would be boring, but au contraire- punctuated by a few glamorous red and black numbers, this bevy of blush really put the movie star back into celebrity.
