Confirmed! J. Crew is Opening a Wedding Boutique on Madison

Having enjoyed some pretty spectacular success with the launch of its in-house bridal line, J.Crew is taking its wedding business one step further with the launch of a brick-and-mortar store.

J. Crew Aficionada got the scoop by way of a scanned invitation touting in late May, which we then independently confirmed with our J.Crew contacts, though they passed along the information that the opening will likely be in late May or early June. (It turns out the invitation the Aficionada scored was passed out at the New York Weddings Event last week at the Metropolitan Pavilion.) The new store will be taking over the former Krizia Spa space on the corner of Madison and 66th Street, just in time for the boom of fall brides to have the full J.Crew bridal experience in the flesh.

The new store represents a big play for J.Crew into the wedding market itself, especially since the store is positioned so close to major labels like Donna Karan and Oscar de la Renta, not to mention it's less than 10 blocks south of the designer-to-beat-all-designers when it comes to bridal, Vera Wang, whose flagship resides on Madison and 77th. J.Crew's collections under creative director Jenna Lyons have been pretty spectacular, and the bridal section of the business has been equally impressive, so we expect an expertly-styled boutique at launch.
