Following the success of its December issue, which featured cover girl Taylor Swift in a webcam-induced "augmented reality" adventure in 3D (along with, oh, the raging success that is Avatar), InStyle will revisit the new dimension in its March editorial pages.
This time around, InStyle will hide its magical 3D escapades in the "Clothes We Love" section of the magazine, wherein readers can place the opening page of the spread up to their webcam and, lo and behold, there appears a styliing tutorial on how to carry the six looks introduced in the story. Each of the pieces will have linkage and shopping information. We'll admit, we're pretty awestruck by the technology. Not sure how expensive it is to produce -- and if the costs will ultimately be worth the benefits -- but ... wow.
