Each year, the Fashion Institute of Technology stages a final fashion show of the best work among its undergrads and this year, the school's Future of Fashion blog will pit four hopefuls in competition for a coveted spot on the runway.
The blog format allows design-challenge junkies such as ourselves to follow the contestants' progress through the weeks, with snapshots and entries that give a real hands-on, behind-the-scenes feel to the process.
The four students each specialize in a different category -- knitwear, sportswear, intimates and formalwear -- are working towards the spot in the show, which will be livestreamed worldwide on April 26. The panel of judges includes Carolina Herrera and Calvin Klein, so even more daunting than a tremendous live audience, they've got to face near-iconic industry leaders for a critique.
