Amid all the release news was the dispiriting announcement that Guillermo del Toro's "The Hobbit" wouldn't see the light of day for another three years. Turns out that was a typo.
Apparently there was some confusion between the folks at IMAX, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema, resulting in a press release saying the first installment of "The Hobbit" would arrive in December 2013, when in reality the film will hit theaters in 2012, according to Heat Vision.
Maybe Andy "Gollum" Serkis knew what he was talking about when he told a gathering of the press at the Tribeca Film Festival this week that he thought shooting was going to begin in May.
