No Longer a 5, Jay Baruchel Moving Out of His Own “League”

Jay Baruchel continues his movie star rise with the release of Disney's "Sorcerer's Apprentice" next month, which gave us pause -- does he really rate only a 5 on the hotness scale?

Should the filmmakers in "She's Out of My League" revise this score for history's sake?

As the comedy comes out on DVD and Blu-ray Tuesday, we tracked down "League" co-star TJ Miller, the buddy who assigned the score and laid out the technical reasons for it in the movie.

Miller argues his co-star has moved up in the rankings.

"He's got to be an 8 right now," Miller tells PopcornBiz. "He's got 'Sorcerer's Apprentice' and stuff. This is getting serious."

And by getting an 8, Baruchel can now even woo 10's by his own "League" theory of attraction. "I think he can finally jump that 2-point chasm," says Miller.

The ratings system and the hilarious bowling scene highlights one of the great aspects of "League" -- the improv-heavy buddy scenes between the self-deprecating Baruchel, comedian Miller and the other pals from the fictional Pittsburgh airport security team.

Miller has revised his own personal score, which was a tepid 6 in the movie ("and they put me at a six in billboards all over the city with my face on it," he adds).

"I'm doing well, but I'm down to a 4 since the alternator went out on my car," he says. "But I'm hoping to get to a 7 real soon."

With parts in "Gulliver's Travels" and as Ranger Jones in "Gulliver's Travels," there's little doubt that Miller will be there soon enough.
