A Family-Friendly Cut of “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” Trailer

Just yesterday we were all excited about the "bootleg" version of the trailer for "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." In fact, we liked so much it didn't bother us that Standards & Practices wouldn't allow us to post it.

But today comes an official, studio-sanctioned cut of the trailer that's appropriate for all audiences, and really, the absence of the brief nudity and blood do nothing to detract from its impact. It's still got  that raw, cold look, the kinetic camera work and that great cover of "The Immigrant Song" by Trent Reznor and Karen O.

Our only complaint is the promo at the end directing us to DRAGONTATTOO.COM--imagine our dismay when we found that URL redirects to SonyPictures.com/movies, where you'll find nothing related to the film.

The cast is stacked--Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Stellan Skarsgard, Robin Wright, Max von Sydow, Christopher Plummer and Joely Richardson--Fincher's in his comfort zone, the soundtrack's in good hands... We can't wait for the "Feel Bad Movie of Christmas."

It'll be here Dec. 21.
