Electric Zoo @ Randall's Island

We can’t think of a finer way to bid adieu to the hype of Hurricane Irene---and the most boring weekend recorded in New York history---than by hitting this Labor Day weekend hard with the three-day Electric Zoo music festival on Randall’s Island.

Headlining on Friday is Dutch DJ/producer, Tiesto, one of the biggest names in electronic music who still has this 42-year-old rolling deep from his Kaleidoscope World Tour which began in 2010, spanning 5 continents and included 150 dates.

Saturday brings another legendary name, French house music producer and DJ David Guetta, who released his fifth studio album Nothing but the Beat just this past week. The album features collaborations with Lil Wayne, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, and Akon, among others.

Closing out the festival on Sunday is another Dutchman, trance DJ Armin van Buuren--and these are just the headliners.  Also listed to perform are Moby, MSTRKRFT, Chromeo, Diplo, Carl Cox, Dubfire and many more.

So if you hear the pumping electric dance beats blaring loud and clear from neighboring boroughs, you’ll be wishing you were there.  With so much pent up energy from this past weekend of staying indoors, something tells us a three day show might just do the trick.

Looks like the only tickets available include shuttle transportation, and that sounds good to us.
