San Francisco's psychedelic giants, Wooden Shjips, take the stage Thursday at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Wooden Shjips is on a tear this year, with the release of its latest LP West making quite an impact for the band and its label. With West, recorded in a studio proper, the lo-fi scuzz of the Shjips' previous recordings has been shaved away, revealing a band patient enough to bear with its own cyclical habits.

West wraps you in a Mexican blanket, directs you to stare at the campfire and forces you to draw on your own vision quest.

It's a warm and hypnotic album, open-ended and familiar -- without a doubt the band's best yet. Check out two videos from the album below.

Wooden Shjips will get opener support from Birds of Avalon. Doors at 8 p.m.
