Wide Mix of Artists to Salute Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan will turn 71 on May 24, and the good people at WFUV feel you should "Get Drunk and Celebrate the Music of Bob Dylan” and it's kind of hard to argue with that.

To facilitate this goal, the station has organized Dylan Fest 2012, a more-or-less annual event that this year will take place on May 24 and 25 at Irving Plaza and see various guests sit in with The Cabin Down Below Band and pay tribute to one of the greatest songwriters who ever lived. Tickets are available here

Dylan Fest is proof that the man's genius has touched a lot of people. All kinds of people. People you never would have expected. This is one of the most random assortments of people we've ever seen on one concert bill.

Saluting Dylan will be Moldy Peach Adam Green, Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, Jersey belter Nicole Atkins, Ryan Miller of Guster, Cory Chisel, fellow old schooler Boz Scaggs, Christopher Chu of POP ETC, Peter Ericson Stakee of Alberta Cross, Tyson Ritter of pop-punks All American Rejects and Jody Porter of Fountains of Wayne, among others.

More guests are promised, and frankly we can't wait to see who else they add to this thing. Azealia Banks? Jon Hamm? That dude from Blues Traveler? Stay tuned.
