Jazz at Lincoln Center
On Friday and Saturday April 8 and 9, Wynton Marsalis and Eric Clapton will join forces at the Rose Theater at Lincoln Center to invoke to spirit of some of the earliest American jazz and blues icons, from King Oliver to Ma Rainey and Louis Armstrong.
There’ll be a guest appearance by bluesman Taj Mahal, and look out for some interesting choices in the band lineup for Marsalis and Clapton, such as Jonathan Batiste on piano, who of late joined Trombone Shorty and Dr. John on stage at BAM’s celebration of New Orleans music.
A pre-sale starts Friday January 28 at noon for MasterCard holders, followed by a general on-sale date of Saturday, February 12. Tickets are $65-$245 available via the Jazz at Lincoln Center website, at the box office (at the ground level of the Time Warner Building at Broadway and 60th Street) and by calling CenterCharge at 212-721-6500.
