The Hives have been silent since the tour for 2007's The Black and White Album, which is an usual thing to say about such a rowdy bunch.
But they roared back to life this past weekend at the Coachella Festival, where Howlin' Pelle Almqvist got the entire crowd to sit down during a performance of "Tick Tick Boom," and then demanded everyone jump back up at the same time.
They've still got it.
The Swedish garage-rock fellows will release their new album Lex Hives on June 4. The band self-produced the effort, and will release it via their new imprint Disques Hives. You can stream the new single "Go Right Ahead" here.
To get the word out, the ever-dapper fellows will play a New York show next week on April 26 at The Studio at Webster Hall.
