Austin-based psychedelic rock outfit the Black Angels are kicking off a headlining tour in support of their heavy, haunting 2010 disc Phosphene Dream, which the BBC called "rock album of the year, if anyone's counting."

They’ll spend February in Europe and then land back on our shores with a stretch of dates set to include back to back gigs at Bowery Ballroom on April 8 and the Music Hall of Williamsburg April 9, both of which are pretty much aguaranteed to sell out. They’re joined for both by ultradark Canadian indie outfit the Suuns (that's pronounced "soons," by the way--they're the band formerly known as the Zeroes QC).

Tickets for both shows go on sale this Friday, February 4, at 12PM.
