The Citizens Band, that ragtag collective of artists who create elaborate, vaudeville-meets-Weimar productions (with special guests like Zooey Deschanel, Karen Elson and Nina Persson of the Cardigans) that you always hear about after the fact and kick yourself for missing, has a new show coming to the Highline Ballroom for one night only, December 18. From our inbox:
We are so thrilled to bring you our latest theatrical production for one night only, Saturday, December 18th entitled “The Past is a Foreign Country.”
The Highline Ballroom in NYC will graciously play host to “The Past is a Foreign Country” – a show tackling the topic of displaced people and refugee support, and is being presented as a partnership with the USA for UNCHR, an organization that supports the United Nations’ efforts to protect and assist refugees fleeing violence, war, and persecution around the globe. This show marks the first time we have worked with USA for UNCHR’s life-saving relief program.
Tickets are available now, for the price of $35.00 from the following link:
The show will begin promptly at 8pm, please arrive early if you’d like to be seated – its first come, first served.
We hope you will join us and support this wonderful cause.
With our deepest regards & utmost affection,
The Citizens Band
