Nicki Minaj at Roseland Ballroom Tuesday, Free for First 1500

Tickets will be free for the first 1500 fans

Queens-bred rapper Nicki Minaj hopes to make it up to her fans after canceling her Summer Jam performance with a show Tuesday night at Roseland Ballroom.

And for the first 1,500 fans, those tickets will be free.

Minaj backed out of the famous Hot 97 show in June after morning show DJ Peter Rosenberg insulted her recent radio hit, "Starships", saying it wasn't "real hip-hop."

She defended her decision to cancel on the radio with Funkmaster Flex the following day, and also announced her intentions to play a free show for her fans in New York City later in the summer.

Minaj confirmed the time and place on Twitter August 2. The tickets were to be distributed to the first 1,500 fans who arrived no earlier than noon, according to DNA Info.

Minaj also played Rockefeller Plaza in the morning as part of the Today Show Summer Concert Series.
