Who: This week marks the U.S. release of Noah and the Whale’s third album, Last Night On Earth, via Mercury Records. Noah’s Charlie Fink created most of the album in early 2010, scribbling lyrics on a train from Wales to London and finally holing up in an East London synagogue to work on the meat of the thing. The result is something of a departure from the band’s established sound. Check out the live studio version of the album track "Give It All Back," below, and grab the remix of “L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.” by Brit DJ/musician/producer Fake Blood. The band comes to Bowery Ballroom March 21 and 22.
Reminds us of: Honestly? Early Springsteen, a little Lou Reed (whose “Street Hustle” evidently was one of the threads of influence Fink started with)
