He'll play two shows, at 8 and 11:30PM.

The musician/actor/activist (and Converse sneaker designer, and Yo Gabba Gabba’s Super Mr. Superhero, ICYMI) is dropping in at the jazz club (where he's played before, notably for six intimate shows in 2009) between touring down under and resuming work on his fifth album (he’s signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music imprint). Mos Def’s collaborator Talib Kweli, meanwhile, hits the Blue Note stage for two shows on Wednesday night as part of Idle Warship with Res.

Mos Def at the Blue Note Jazz Club, February 8, 9PM and 11:30PM. 131 West 3rd Street, 212-475-8592. Tickets: $30 at the bar, $45 at tables; reservations available at  bluenotejazz.com.
