Mission of Burma, Pissed Jeans to Play NYC

Two different punk standard bearers have announced upcoming New York dates.

The legendary Mission of Burma will play the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Jan. 19. Tickets go on sale here on Saturday. A few days later on Jan. 22, Pissed Jeans will also play the same venue. Tickets are $12 and go on sale here on Friday.

Mission of Burma have been making sharp-edged, anthemic punk since the early '80s, give or take a break of a decade or two, and would be considered iconic even if they hadn't been written about in "Our Band Could Be Your Life."

Pissed Jeans have been going since the early aughts, and have developed a reputation for shows that reliably leave audience members covered in beer, even if they didn't order beer.

The members of Mission of Burma seem like dudes who have rigorous intellectual debates about foreign policy and the current state of graphic design. Pissed Jeans named their band Pissed Jeans. Both shows should be a good way to get your heart pumping in the dead of winter.
