Laura Marling, Jimmy Cliff to Play Free Prospect Park Shows

Following last week's announcement that The Dirty Projectors would be dropping by Prospect Park this summer, Celebrate Brooklyn has announced a few more acts that will appear at the bandshell.

In keeping with the spirit of outdoor summer shows in New York, both appearances are free.

Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff will play the bandshell on June 5. He's recently been in the studio with Rancid singer and genre-blending disciple Tim Armstrong, so perhaps he'll show up for this as well.

But either way you can probably count on Cliff to dust off a few nuggets from "The Harder They Come" soundtrack.

Rising British folk-rock star Laura Marling will play the park on June 14.

Marling will be touring in support of last year's elegant A Creature I Don't Know, and her live show will include both intricately plucked gems and some of the most delightfully awkward between-song stage banter in the business.
