Chuck D, Mac nerd? Yep.
Tonight at the Soho Apple Store, expect to see the tech-fetish side of the Public Enemy co-founder.
Just back from Boston (where he delivered a talk on Race, Rap, and Reality at the University of Massachusetts to kick off Black History Month) the rapper/producer/author/activist/Twitter philosopher will be joined by another Chuck, AllHipHop.com CEO Chuck Creekmur. The pair will tackle tech advances and more, talking about the history of hip-hop, how Apple and the Mac changed the music industry, and that fact that hardly anybody ever calls Chuck D by his real name, the aggressively preppy moniker Carlton Douglas Ridenhour. (Okay, maybe not that last part.)
Meet Chuck D and Chuck Creekmur at the Apple Store, 103 Prince Street, (212) 226-3126. Thursday, February 3, 8PM. Free.
