Bloc Party at Terminal 5

It would appear that Bloc Party is back to block rocking. After a several year hiatus, the U.K. art rock group recently signed a deal with New York record label Frenchkiss Records, and now they've announced they will play Terminal 5 on August 8.

Tickets go on sale here on April 20. Brooklyn indie-pop group The Drums will open.

Bloc Party debuted with the 2004 single rigidly funky and politically strident "Banquet" and won acclaim for expansive, thoughtful albums like Silent Alarm and A Weekend In The City. Following the tour for 2008's Intimacy, the band took some time off to pursue other interests, frontman Kele Okereke's dance music solo project being the most prominent.

Last year rumors began to circulate that Okereke had left the band to focus on his solo career, but apparently that was overstated, which is good news as far as we are concerned, because Weekend In The City holds up really, really well. "Waiting For The 7:18," anyone?
