Best Coast And Wavves Plan Tour; Record Song For Target

Oh to be young and in love. The completeness experienced when some divine power leads you to that single person put on this earth just for you is a feeling like no other. Butterflies flutter. Palms sweat. Words trip over themselves with an unfamiliar regularity. Daily routines quickly get broken in an effort to spend every waking minute with your newfound love, and in the case of lo-fi indie rocker artists Best Coast and Wavves this sentiment couldn’t be truer.

The relationship between Best Coast’s lead singer / guitarist Bethany Cosentino and Wavves lead singer/ guitarist Nathan Williams has been no secret to the indie world as the two have repeated used their bands Twitter accounts to send cutesy messages to one another. The couple was recently tapped by the Target to contribute a track to The Christmas Gig which is 10 tracks of holiday originals from artists like Guster, Little Jackie and Crystal Antlers. Their fuzzy love song about that unbearable holiday anticipation titled “Got Something For You” is currently being streamed via Target (dot com).

With emotions running at a happy high, it comes as no surprise that these California based lovebirds will join forces for a 26 date tour across North America kicking off with a show in Wavves hometown of San Diego on January 21. The mtvU Freshman Five and SPIN sponsored tour includes a stop at New York’s Webster Hall on February 2 with a concert at the Music Hall of Williamsburg the following evening. All the shows on the tour will feature buzzed about Montreal shoegazers No Joy as the opener. Tickets for the New York area shows go on sale Friday, November 19 via Ticketmaster.
