A-Trak, erstwhile world champion DJ and co-owner of the renowned Williamsburg-based Fools Gold Records, has announced that he, as well as the production duo Flosstradamus and the rapper Donnis, will be spending a couple weeks of October playing shows at people's houses. You read that correctly. The guy who was once Kanye West's DJ is going to be DJing house parties.
This tour, dubbed appropriately enough the House Party Tour, hearkens back to the tradition of house shows and concerts held at underground performance spaces. Classically, these are put on by musicians more firmly entrenched in the "underground" stage of their careers, but the fact that the Fools Gold camp is putting these on is a comforting thought—despite all his success, A-Trak is still a man of the people. A-Trak and Co. will be hitting Asbury Park, NJ on October 21st, so NYC residents have a glimmer of hope to see the madness in action.
