Bring Showboating Back to the No Fun League

The NFL's strict adherence to its "No Fun" policy is slowly sucking the life out of the sport -- and nothing could turn it around like a few more Sharpies, mock proposals and cell phone calls in the endzone.

Add the hefty fine imposed this week on 86-year-old Titans owner Bud Adams for giving the finger to the opposing team to the list of those acting "indecently" and -- God forbid -- offending the league's delicate sensibilities.

In our opinion, Chad Ochocinco's "bribing" of an official with a $1 bill two weeks ago cost him $20,000 and was worth every penny. TO's infamous Sharpie moment was epic. And Joe Horn's "phone home" involving a strategically placed cell phone in the padding of the uprights are some of the most memorable moments of the sport.

We're not saying the league should allow hair-pulling antics here. Just a little fun once in a while. Until then, we'll take a page from good ol' Bud and offer the league the one-finger salute.
