The World Music Institute in conjunction with the JCC hosted a melancholic and beautiful performance by Sephardic singer Yasmin Levy at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts this weekend. Levy spoke with Nonstop Sound on her mission to help the dying Ladino language survive the ages via song. Brooklyn-based Sephardic rockers "DeLeon" opened the show, which is part of a 5-day Global Jewish Music Festival.
