Ally Hilfiger is determined to be less consumed by pop culture and more like her pops. She's ditching her reality show past and is launching a fashion line.
At this week's "All Good Things" movie premiere, Hilfiger told Niteside about her new clothing venture, begun with friend Nary Manivong, which is set to be unveiled early next year. The brand is called NAHM, a combination of the designers’ initials.
"We’re launching at February fashion week. We’re very excited! At the moment it’s all women’s shirt-dresses, a twist [on the] classic shirt dress," Hilfiger said. "We will be designing a belt I believe. Other than that we are just focusing on dresses.”
So can we expect the preppy looks favored by her dad?
“It’s definitely a contemporary feel and definitely classic all American. [Tommy]'s super excited and super proud.”
The former "Rich Girls" star added that the past is staying right there.
“No more reality TV. Strictly design business. I’m a designer now, going forward. We’re very focused with our direction and our aesthetic."
Despite her departure from reality TV, Hilfiger says she still tunes in.
“Bravo is great!” she said, though she hasn't seen the biggest current reality show -- "Jersey Shore."
“I’m so busy now working on the collection that I don’t have much time for television!”
