DJ Ryan McKnight and singer Kelis
DJ Ryan McKnight said the Wednesday night party "The Happening" at the swank Hudson Hotel where he was spinning last night and where pop star Kelis celebrated her after party following a sold-out show at Santos Party House has no boundaries.
“I’m friends with everyone here,” DJ Ryan McKnight told Niteside last night. “We’re a party for everyone. I want everyone to have fun -- no borders, no boundaries.”
Not just McKnight was feeling the party spirit last night. Rather than being roped off in a VIP area, the “Milkshake” singer obliged friends and fans alike with hugs and pictures.
Suits and hipsters mingled with face-painted androgynous dancers bedecked in Lady Gaga-esque finery all of whom swarmed the Hudson Bar as McKnight blasted bass-heavy house and classic dance hits at the weekly, gay-friendly party, which has grown in popularity since launching in November.
Though the crowd has diverse tastes, McKnight said there is one type of music that always gets the party started: “Spanish songs. I’m bringing the Ibiza sound to New York.”
