Exercise Helps Train Brain for Weight Loss

As first reported by The Daily News, regular exercise not only helps people lose calories, it also trains the brain to be more attuned to the body, and to help keep the body on a healthy path.

People who exercised and dieted tended to stick with their weight loss programs more than people who just dieted, because regular exercise is believed to help condition people to recognize when they are feeling healthy and to make decisions that will keep them continue to feel healthy.

According to the study, which was conducted by Harvard for the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology, exercise helps the brain recognize when the body has eaten enough, and helps the brain to resist unhealthy habits like overeating.
