Not only is the Rainbow Room cutting back service, but two floors up, the Rockefeller Center observation decks are opening up a hotel suite.

While the cutbacks at the Rainbow Grill are temporary, the hotel bed at Top of the Rock's 67th floor is strictly a one-night deal. On January 27, one lucky couple will get to spend the night in Brides Magazine’s Mile High Honeymoon Suite -- followed by a trip to Bora Bora.

The indoor Weather Room near the top of 30 Rockefeller Center will be converted into a honeymoon suite by the editors of Brides, according to the travel site NewYorkology.

The Mile High couple will be chosen by Brides based on which of the contest entries has the most compelling love story. The magazine asks: "Are you the most romantic couple in the world but haven't had the honeymoon of your dreams?" Entries will be accepted through January 9.

A few blocks to the south, the Empire State Building runs its own annual romantic essay contest -- but to choose couples who want to get married atop the city's tallest skyscraper on Valentine's Day. That's the only day of the year the Empire State Building allows weddings on the observation deck.
