Philharmonic Returns to Central Park in July

Free concerts also planned for all Outer Boroughs

Despite budget cuts elsewhere, the New York Philharmonic will play two free Central Park concerts this summer, both with fireworks.

In total, the NY Philharmonic's July calendar now includes six free performances, one in each borough (plus an extra one in Central Park .)

The list of free NY Philharmonic summer concerts includes July 14 and July 17 on the Great Lawn at Central Park; July 15 at Prospect Park (which will also feature fireworks after the performance,) and July 20 at Colden Auditorium at Queens College, (which will not get fireworks.)

Be warned that weather can cancel the show, usually with no make-up dates.

The schedule of music for each performance date will be announced "later this spring," according to the New York Philharmonic's website.

Partial schedules have also been announced for a few other free and often-free summer events, including Prospect Park 's Celebrate Brooklyn and Central Park Summerstage.
