Lest you think Thanksgiving is all about the parade, the meal and family feuds, New York City actually has a lot of other options in store.

The Central Park Zoo, Bronx Zoo and New York aquarium are open for the day, as are the ice rinks at Bryant Park, Central Park and Rockefeller Center.

Indoors, you can see the "Radio City Christmas Spectacular," the Big Apple Circus or Cirque du Soleil's "Wintuk" at Madison Square Garden.

Both the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center 's Top of the Rock are also open on Thanksgiving Day.

Broadway's even in on the action this year with holiday evening performances from “Avenue Q,” “Chicago,” “Spring Awakening,” “Phantom of the Opera” and “Irving Berlin's White Christmas.”
