Winter antique flea shops pop up.

The biggest event to watch for this weekend is the Brooklyn Flea's Winter Antiques Pop-Up Market opening in DUMBO on Saturday and Sunday, from 11AM-6PM. While the massive flea market will return to its original Fort Greene location in April, the bonanza will be wintering in DUMBO, where visitors can comfortably shop in an, ahem, heated environment. (Let's face it: no one's gonna buy tchotchkes in freezing temperatures.) Rest assured: this spot is worth visiting—even if it's now slightly out of the way: Racked even ranked it among its top 10 new stores of the year, alongside greats like Fred Flare, Rogan on the Bowery, and the Red Hook Ikea. Plus, Refinery29 reports that the market will now include a "Curated Corner," with different designers/vendors bringing special sales, trunk shows, and more every weekend. (Brooklyn Flea Pop-Up Market, 76 Front Street.)

Next of importance is the annual warehouse sale at Housing Works, at which you pay $20 and get to play a little game called "stuff your bag as full of overstock goodies as you can." Yup, that's right: Designer pieces from Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, and more—all stuffed into your hot little hands! It's better than a game show. And it's all for charity. (Saturday, January 10, 10AM-4PM; 4849 35th St., Long Island City)

Also on this weekend: one of our favorite downtown hipster emporiums, Oak, is hosting their big 405060 sale, where fall items are divvied up into sale categories of (you guessed it) 40, 50, and 60 percent off. Stop by their stores to see the discounts for yourself, or pop online to Oak's website and find duds from Alexander WAng, Grey Ant, Vena Cava, and more at huge savings.
