Glamorous cuppas and retro bargains at private Saturday event

Some things we love: bargains, kooky fashion outsiders, snooping around other peoples' houses. All three will be on tap this Saturday at a tea party and private shopping event at a gorgeous Boerum Hill brownstone hosted by Karen LaPorte, late of Ouvrez La Porte, the (sadly shuttered) trove of high-end vintage fashions from the 1920s to the 1970s and goods from up-and-coming design talent all over the globe. She'll be selling much of her shop's inventory way below retail. Tea sandwiches and outré style bargains? We love.
