Between July 4th and Labor Day things get a little slow on the Information Superhighway, and so, expect a bit of inbox clearing out in the weeks to come—including rants, raves and other reader-submitted tomfoolery. Want in on the action? Then drop us a line and tell us what's on your mind. First up is André Balazs's Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District. Way back when, we referred to the boutique hotel's relationship with the High Line as a "perpetual lap dance." We didn't know how correct that assessment would be! One Curbed tipster writes:

The other night I was walking up the High Line and noticed a lot of congestion on the south side of the Standard Hotel. A lot of people were looking up and trying to take pictures with their cell phones.

It turns out a woman was getting ready in her hotel room completely naked and prancing around near the window as she tried on various outfits. As it was night, the entire room was lit up and in plain view. I've heard anecdotally that other selacious things have been witnessed through the windows while standing underneath the hotel. Whoever thought to build a hotel straddling the High Line is a genius.

          Um, No: Tinsley Mortimer

Always taking style to the next level, socialite Tinsley Mortimer took the alarming trend of frothy, flowery embellishments and added some extra tiers. The result, alas, is more cake than fashion.
