Soho: Back in April, news broke that 10 year-old SoHo vet Cafe Noir would be closing and relocating sometime this summer, because the landlord was asking too much in rent and would only renew the restaurant's lease for two years. Apparently, the owners changed their minds about moving as the deadline approached.

An employee at the restaurant today confirmed a reader tip that they've renewed the lease for another year but are still looking for another location. It's just a year, but it gives them enough time to scout the right location—they were briefly on a CB2 agenda for the Bar Martignetti space, but eventually pulled out—and perhaps gives the landlord more time to change his mind.
