BIRTHDAY SUIT: Our favorite mashup of the written word and total naughtiness returns as Naked Girls Reading goes to the movies. A host of burlesque-world icons—Nasty Canasta, Clams Casino, Delirium Tremens and others—congregate at Madame X to “undress the literature of the Silver Screen,” but just because they’ll be naked in a semi-public place doesn’t mean this isn’t a serious literary event. 8PM

LOCAVORE: A year ago this month, the Brooklyn Food Coalition was born out of feverish excitement when nearly 4000 hungry folks swarmed the Brooklyn Food Conference. At tonight’s first BFC birthday bash, hear author Anna Lappe discuss her book Diet for a Hot Planet, sample vittles and drinks from local food purveyors like The Farm on Adderly, Bark, Six Point, Convivium Osteria, and more. 6:30PM.

ANTENNAE UP: Attention, bug nerds: Set aside your well-worn copy of Hugh Raffles’ addictive book “Insectopedia” for one night and join Cabinet magazine, Evidence Design, and Raffles as they join forces to bring you "Insectomedia," an evening of insects, with film shorts, images, readings, art, and cocktails at Cabinet, 300 Nevins Street, Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. 7PM.
