It's almost as though the world, up until the recent Michael Jackson memorials, had forgotten about the presence of loafers, overshadowed as they were by preoccupation with towering 7-inch heels and Sperry Topsiders. Well, watch out gladiator sandals; this brief Jackson-style patent leather loafer trend could continue through fall.

Even before Kate Moss sported them yesterday, Repetto was selling their Jackson jazz shoe like hotcakes and in response, blog FabSugar compiled a gallery of their loafer picks.

We're sure it's just the first of many such lists and celeb sightings (surely Justin Timberlake is clicking away on Zappos now), and don't be surprised if Steve Madden churns out a knock-off post haste. If we had to chose however, we'd head straight to Christian Louboutin; it's almost as if the king of the red sole had the king of pop in mind while designing the shoes above. Now for the only issue: black or white?

          Um, No: Tinsley Mortimer

Always taking style to the next level, socialite Tinsley Mortimer took the alarming trend of frothy, flowery embellishments and added some extra tiers. The result, alas, is more cake than fashion.
