Downtown hipster emporium Opening Ceremony used to make headlines for their spectacular under-the-radar labels like Acne, BOY by Band of Outsiders, Hussein Chalayan, and Whyred. Then they opened up a special upstairs section in their Chinatown store devoted to Topshop ... and remember, this before everyone and their dog knew about Topshop. You know, when Topshop WAS Topshop. Oh, right, and then there was the whole Liberty-florals-and-leopard-print (and, most recently, strappy booties) collaboration with Chloe Sevigny.

But after all that hype, what's really earning Opening Ceremony top marks of late is their in-house label. It's like the store perfectly distilled their downtown-cool-with-a-European-edge vibe and applied it across a collection of effortlessly sexy pieces.

Today, the Refinery29 ladies got their hands one on the label's Fall 2009 Lookbook (shot by Richard Kern), and we have to agree that the pieces almost (almost!) have us wishing for cooler temperatures. Everything has the label's signature slouchy-sexy appeal, from sweatshirt-inspired minidresses to a boyfriend sweater shot through with cut-outs. Then there are the more grown-up dresses--an asymmetrical ruffle-neck piece and a lacy black minidress with a '90s appeal.

In a brilliant turn, the label's chosen to partner with Western outdoorsy label Pendleton for a line of jackets and vests emblazond with the label's famous bright, Native American-inspired prints. Frankly, we're not sure what we're going to buy first.
