Always-on-the-cutting edge hipster fashion emporium Opening Ceremony blasted its customers late yesterday with an exclusive chance to own what they claim will be THE "it" item for fall: A pair of platform buckled boots from Chloe Sevigny's upcoming collection for the store.

The boots, which retail for $625 and will be available in leather and suede, are available for presale starting right now on Opening Ceremony's web site, where you can fill out a form and ... wait until August or September for your new boots to arrive.

Now, we will grant Opening Ceremony (and Chloe) this: These boots are smokin' hot. They're every bit as cool-girl as we'd expect—and the slew of buckles up the front have a fantastic Balenciaga-meets-biker chic quality that we would so want our fall boots to have. So, Chloe, job well done.

They are, however, over $600, and while we know that some other fantasy items at Opening Ceremony might cost even more than that (full disclosure, we're referring to our major fantasy item, a double-breasted blazer by Boy by Band of Outsiders, which costs about $1600—madness, we know!), it simply must be said that we are currently in the midst of some rather dire financial times and frankly, we can't even imagine what our fall wardrobe will consist of, since we're too preoccupied with wondering if we can add one more piece from Rachel Comey's spring collection to our growing roster of things-we-probably-can't-actually-pay-for.
