London-based super-store Topshop (when, oh when, will it ever finally open in New York?) has long been known for its partnerships with intriguing and emerging talent. (Um, hello, did anyone else know that you can go on their website right now and shop for goods from like Preen and Peter Jensen? Our afternoon is officially shot.) Now it looks like they're going one step further by highlighting the knitwear of one Simone Shailes, a recent CSM grad who's just started working under Phoebe Philo for Chloe. That's right, aspiring fashion stars, she's just like you! Granted, she's just like you but with the kind of talent that can create looping knit capes with metallic accoutrements. So this should serve as a watch-out notice for all those young hopefuls sitting behind their booths at the Young Designers' Market in Soho: Who knows if the Topshop scouts will come looking for you next! Everyone in the blogosphere is certainly hoping that this heralds a new era of collaborations between seriously up-and-comers (i.e. barely out o' university) and more established shops.

          Um, No: Tinsley Mortimer

Always taking style to the next level, socialite Tinsley Mortimer took the alarming trend of frothy, flowery embellishments and added some extra tiers. The result, alas, is more cake than fashion.
