CANADA D’EH: On July 1, as our northern neighbo(u)rs celebrate their country, Joe’s Pub celebrates one of its greatest contributions to the world: The Great Canadian Songbook. Pub show regulars pay tribute at Canada's Birthday Bash with renditions of gems penned by Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and so on. 7 and 9:30PM.

QUIRKOUT: French director Arnaud Desplechin (“A Christmas Tale”) and critic Kent Jones will be on hand after a screening of one of their favorite films, Wes Anderson’s “The Royal Tenenbaums” at BAM. Come watch, enjoy, and hear them deconstruct the meaning of red tracksuits. 6:15PM.

WE FOLD: How often to you get to spend time with “one of the world’s leading origami masters”? Dr Robert J. Lang apparently boasts more than 500 original designs (all of which are catalogued and diagrammed), and if that wasn’t enough, he’s also a trained physicist who’ll be at CUNY Grad Center discussing how to use the ancient Japanese art to solve complex scientific problems. (No, really, it’s going to be fascinating!) 6:30PM.

          Um, No: Tinsley Mortimer

Always taking style to the next level, socialite Tinsley Mortimer took the alarming trend of frothy, flowery embellishments and added some extra tiers. The result, alas, is more cake than fashion.
