THE ROARING (15)20s: Prepare to see Manhattan as a jungle – the original, leafy kind – as animal experts discuss the fauna (mountain lions! black bears!) that yesterday roamed wild where today there’s a Container Store and a Jamba Juice. "The Wildlife of Mannahatta," Museum of the City of New York, 6:30PM.

STUY TOWN: "Do the Right Thing," about race clashes on the stoops of Brooklyn one sweaty 1980s summer, was Spike Lee’s breakthrough – but it was Danny Aiello as the conflicted pizza slinger who gave the story its heart. He signs copies of the film's DVD at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle at 7:30PM.

QUIET DESPERATION: The French Institute’s Michel Piccoli tribute continues with Agnes Varda’s classic "The Creatures," one of those stiflingly uncomfortable French bedroom dramas from the sixties (1966, to be exact). An accident leaves a writer (Piccoli) injured and his pregnant wife (Catherine Deneuve) mute -- and then all of a sudden they're on an island, with fantasy sequences! Good times. Prepare to squirm in the very best way. 7:30PM.

          Um, No: Tinsley Mortimer

Always taking style to the next level, socialite Tinsley Mortimer took the alarming trend of frothy, flowery embellishments and added some extra tiers. The result, alas, is more cake than fashion.
