Raise your fork for a lavish 2009 countdown - with a blindfold

While some gourmands love the social aspect of dining, others are more turned on by the sensory aspects of food - the textures, the layered flavors, the aftertastes. Dark Dining is for this last bunch, and the roving project alights on December 31 for an extravagant four-course New Year's Eve dinner at Camaje Bistro in the Village.
Don a blindfold (the high-tech kind, not the flimsy things you get on airplanes) and let the sensory side of your meal (with paired wines) knock you sideways, as the chefs play with your palate. And in-between courses, no peeking as performances designed to be heard and felt (tap-dancing, violin) take over the room. No idea what the hosts have planned for midnight, but no doubt your senses won't soon forget.
