The P.S. 1 Warm-Up (always one of our favorite summer barbecues, and now our official Dutch Kills pre-party) launches on July 4, with a party featuring Dan Bell (a.k.a. DBX) and Reagenz. July 11 will feature experimental musicians Aki Onda and MV Carbon. Other performers, such as Stars Like Fleas and Duane Pitre, are being scheduled.

As usual, the installation, titled “afterparty,” will have to be seen to be comprehended, but we’re promised a “conical shelter” consisting of “tall hutlike ‘chimneys’ with dark thatched skin,” for what it’s worth. Of course, there will also be a water element, such as the kiddie pools of years past. Should this get you wondering about other places where you can drink by the pool without having to travel to Montauk or Atlantic City, our weekly Bar Buzz has an excellent roundup.
