When the Ciprianis announced they would close the Rainbow Grill this weekend, they said they'd keep the adjacent Rainbow Room open for events.
But now, the Times reports that landlord Tishman Speyer Properties wants them out immediately. Tishman claims it's owed millions of dollars in unpaid rent, and plans to find another restaurateur for the hallowed halls, but the Ciprianis are vowing to fight the eviction in court. Okay, it has to be asked: are the Ciprianis becoming the Blagojevich of the restaurant world?
